6124 PROJECT WORKS HAVE BEEN STARTED UNDER JSA
WCD Minister, Pankaja Munde announced the initiation of 6,124projects Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan (JSA) in different villages ofMaharashtra.
She further added that the State Government has allottedRs. 1000 Crore for JSA under the District Planning and Development Fund and hasgiven power to the District Collector to utilize 5% of the District Fund forJSA related projects with an approval from the Guardian Minister of theDistrict.
For the year 2014-15, the State government has allotted Rs. 75 Crores to districts for de-silting, deepening and widening of water storagestructures under RKVY and will also allot Rs. 75 Crore for the same in 2015-16.A committee will be set up in each district under the Guardian Minister formonitoring and evaluation of progress of JSA. MPs, MLAs and the ZP Presidentwill be part of this committee.
